CONSERVATION KIT: For rinsing and dry glycol treatment of seawater-rinsed engines.
Motorized drain kit
It's important to rid the engine cooling system of salt, algae and chemicals to avoid corrosion damage once the boat has been brought ashore.
Before the onset of winter, it's also important to protect the cooling system with glycol to prevent frost damage. Existing flushing sleeves are not safe and do not always work optimally. It's not always easy to introduce glycol into the cooling circuit.
In addition, you need access to hoses and running water.
This is why an alternative product would be very useful.
The Preservation Kit includes the following items:
- A specially manufactured plastic bag measuring 75 x 65 cm (W x H), reusable and fitted with a drain hole.
- 5 STRONG-GRIP aluminum clamps with bearing bolts.
- 1 x 1.5 m fastening rope
Outboard motor winter storage :
Remove the propeller. Close the drain hole in the pocket with a STRONG-GRIP, wrapping the plastic twice around the bearing bolt. Mount the bag on the motor as shown, using the rope and the remaining STRONG-GRIP. Fill the pocket with fresh water and a glycol mixture. Start the engine and let it idle. The liquid is drawn into the engine. It is circulated through the cooling circuit and cleans the engine. Follow the engine manufacturer's instructions. It's important to check that the cooling water is circulating, so that the engine doesn't overheat.
Empty the plastic bag into a container or bucket after completing the process, so that the glycol can be reused if necessary. To do this, dismantle the STRONG-GRIP so that the drain hole is open.
The CONSERVATION KIT can also be used for shorter engine test runs on land.
As an added bonus, the 5 STRONG-GRIPs supplied can be used to secure the tarpaulin to the boat over winter.
